About
Firefighting and Emergency Medical Services offer a wide range of jobs for all interests and skill levels. They can be daunting careers to navigate, especially if you are just starting out or do not identify with the firefighter stereotype.

This website aims to help ease those difficulties as it centralizes career information and resources so YOU can find your place in this field!

Simply put, there are two types of firefighting: structural and wildland. Structural firefighting refers to work protecting structures in urban environments. Wildland firefighting refers to those fighting forest fires. Careers in each look very different, requirements for training and education look very different, and the approach for fighting a fire is very different.
Emergency Medical Services, or EMS, is a broad term. If you're interested in emergency medicine, head on over to the EMS tab to learn more. Even if you are more drawn to firefighting, look into EMS as the two usually go hand-in-hand.
