Structural

Directory Of Fire Camps For Young Women

This resource is a directory of different structural firefighting and leadership camps for young women across the country. These camps are a great opportunity to learn leadership skills and about careers in fire and EMS while surrounded by strong women. They can also be incredibly impactful experiences. Below are a few of the programs in or near Oregon.

Camp Blaze

Week-long firefighting camp for young women ages 16-19 that is generally held every other year in North Bend, Washington. Their mission is to empower, inspire, and support strong women leaders. The camp includes leadership and team building, confidence building, in addition to live-fire training, and an introduction into the fire service. 

 

Young Women's Fire Camp

Free camp for 15-19-year-old female-identifying youth to participate in activities related to the fire service, emergency medical services, and more. Put on by the Eugene Springfield Fire Department

Portland Metro Fire Camp for Young Women

This is a 2-3 day camp for young women aged 16-21 in which young women get to experience unique aspects of firefighting in an all-female environment. 

WIldland

Women in Wildland Fire Boot Camp

The Vale Bureau of Land Management holds a boot camp for women to deliver basic wildland firefighting training and an introduction to the culture.

 

Fire Leadership for Women - 20 Day Training Opportunity

National Interagency Prescribed Fire Training Center (PFTC) in Florida has a 20-day Wildland Fire Leadership training opportunity for women.
